Project Two Final
Repetition of multiple units, attention to detail and eye movement are key elements of the paper transformation project.
When beginning this creative process I tried a few folds in a Richard Sweeney book and decided to focus on the organic lines because the contrast between the sharp lines and corners of a piece of paper.
Each unit is constructed of cut out circles with a crease to create and inwardly beveled edge. My other inspirations for this project include rock formations, caves, and visual movement of a solid structure.
The flat sheets of paper curved into unique cave-like structures. I placed these
units in an organic pattern wrapping around a corner and up a wall.
One question we answered was if we could create our design in a different scale or material what would it be. I responded that I would try to incorporate this piece into architecture. If these modules were made of thick glass and large enough for a human to stand in I would attach them to the outer wall of a building so people could look out in all directions.
